Robert
is a graduate of the universities of Sydney (MA Hons) and New South Wales
(PhD). He has worked as a part-time tutor and lecturer at UNSW in the School of
Music, and was also a post-doctoral fellow and a research assistant there. In
2013 he was a visiting fellow at the Ludwig-Boltzmann Institute for Neo-Latin
Studies in Innsbruck, where he was did research into the music associated with
18th century Neo-Latin Dramas. In November 2017 he presented a paper on
this subject, organised by the University of Innsbruck at Brixen (South Tyrol);
the paper will be published in 2018. Robert has published internationally
(books and articles), written programme annotations for Symphony Services
Australia, Musica Viva, the Choir of St James's Church King Street, and still
writes regularly for the Australia Ensemble at the University of NSW. He has
lectured for Macquarie University, NSOG, Opera Lunedi, CCE at the University of
Sydney, and the WEA, and written and broadcast for ABC FM (1994). Since 2009 he
has been the co-director of the Latin Summer School held each January at the
University, and he tutors French at the PLC Extension Centre, Croydon.
