After studying at the Tasmanian
Conservatorium, Benjamin Oxley joined Opera Queensland, and subsequently Opera
Australia, performing a variety of small roles. His further vocal study took
him to England, initially on contract with English National Opera, with whom he
toured Russia.
He has appeared with The Netherlands Opera
and Nationale Reisopera in Holland, De Vlaamse Opera in Belgium, and Northern
Opera and Richmond Opera in the UK. Benjamin was invited to appear in Simon
Boccanegra and Tristan und Isolde with the Berlin Philharmonic conducted by
Claudio Abbado, in Berlin, Salzburg and Tokyo.
He has appeared on SkyUK, ITV, Granada and
the BBC, and sung for Dame Elizabeth Taylor, the Sultan of Oman, and numerous
corporate events. Benjamin continues to encourage the next generation of young
singers through his work for the Sydney Eisteddfod and other singing
competitions.
