Show & Tell - 2023

On Monday 25 September, members of NOSG presented on areas specific to their interests - and a lot of fun was had by all! The following areas were covered: John Sanders presented a profile of conductorWilhem Furtwangler, Nicky Thorpe presented an aria by Donald Smith, followed by a group rating exercise for 10 famous tenors singing the same aria. Then Monica Olave introduced us to a charming and little-known Rimsky-Korsakov opera, Christmas Eve. David Whitehouse detailed the career of Metropolitan opera stalwart, soprano Eleanor Steber with exceerpts of her singing from The Voice of Firestone.
