Paul Dukas' Ariane et Barbe-Bleue

If you like Debussy's opera Pelleas et Melisande, you'll love Paul Dukas' Ariane et Barbe-Bleue. It too, is based on a Maeterlinck play - in the case of Dukas it was Maeterlinck's symbolist play of the same name, itself loosely based on the French literary tale La Barbe bleue by Charles Perrault.
