A Bel Canto Gala

"Bel canto" in opera refers to a style of singing and composition, Italian for 'beautiful singing," characterised by flowing, lyrical melodies and vocal virtuosity, particularly prominent in 19th-century Italian opera. Today, Dr Hannah Mondry explained the characteristics of this form of opera using many scenes from a number of Bel Canto operas.
